During a visit to Manchester Art Gallery to see the Vogue 100 exhibition, I stumbled across another fashion exhibition: Fashion & Freedom, 1914 – Now, WW1 Centenary Art Commission. The exhibition covered: restriction/release; extreme fashion changes and aspiring and creating.
As a fashion student that is predominately business focussed, it was nice to see how upcoming designers had taken styles/key themes from an era and developed them into amazing designs that I believe fit into the trends of today.
Designers include: Holly Fulton, Roksanda, J JS Lee, Vivienne Westwood, Emilia Wickstead and Sadie Williams.
The exhibition is on until the 27th November so I would definitely go and check it out..
